Leadership and Workplace Culture Expert

Peter Docker is passionate about enabling others to be extraordinary. Inspired by Simon Sinek’s theory of The Golden Circle, Peter works to help individuals and organizations harness the power of Why. The result is extraordinary cultures and sustainable high performance. He illustrates his insights by drawing on examples from his previous flying, military, and industry career to explain principles that can be applied in any business.

A leadership consultant and executive coach, Peter’s commercial experience extends across Europe, Middle East and Africa, North America, India, and the Far East. He has engaged at senior levels with several of the world’s largest companies, developing an understanding of many industries including oil and gas, construction, mining, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, banking, and aviation.

A former senior Royal Air Force officer and professional pilot, Peter has been a Force Commander during combat flying operations and has seen service across the world. A seasoned crisis manager, his multi-faceted career has encompassed being an international negotiator for the UK Government; leading an aviation training and standards organization; teaching post-graduates at the UK’s Defense College; flying the late Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher around the world; and leading multi-billion dollar international procurement projects.

Peter is now dedicated to sharing his insights into how human beings operate, communicate and relate, specializing in organizational culture and leadership. Partnering with the “Start With Why” team since 2011, Peter works with organizations on longer-term engagements, delivers master classes at universities, and is a regular contributor to Simon Sinek’s blog and podcast series.

“Peter brings an exceptional level of commitment and integrity to his work – and it shows in the results he gets. But, perhaps most of all, his ability to see old, gnarly problems in a clear, illuminating new light makes working with him full of potential and hugely exciting.Occasionally, you meet a group of people who can truly inspire. It’s rare to be blown away by a consultancy firm, even rarer still to meet some with the passion, enthusiasm and humanity of Why Not. We came away feeling honoured that they chose to work with us and help us become all we could be. Rare indeed.”

“Peter was a wonderful speaker, very well received. We received excellent feedback so far on our surveys noting that he was a dynamic speaker and set the event off on the right foot. Such a nice person with great insights. We truly appreciated him joining us in Monaco!”

“Quality speakers are so good, and Peter is one of the best. He was thoroughly inspiring and useful. His slick presentation engaged you from the moment he stepped on stage. He was the highlight for me and an added bonus was being able to attend the lunch with him to carry on the Why debate.Peter's presentation was brilliant. He was a very engaging speaker and he made it so relevant that you could really understand how it would work day-to-day in your role and workplace.”
