She joined The Times in 2018 and reported as part of the national and political reporting teams. Previously, she covered religion, politics, and national news at Time Magazine, where she traveled with Pope Francis, interviewed the Dalai Lama, and explored conservative Christianity's rise to power with the Trump movement.
She is a graduate of Wheaton College and has a Master of Divinity degree from Princeton Theological Seminary. She is from Arizona, by way of Ohio, Germany, and Canada, and now lives in Washington. She is the co-author of the national bestselling book The Fall of Roe: The Rise of a New America, with her New York Times colleague Lisa Lerer.

Lisa Lerer is a national political correspondent for the New York Times, who has written about American politics, power, and elections for nearly two decades.
