Emilia Clarke: Biography at a Glance

  • Emilia Clarke rose to international prominence for her breakthrough role as Daenerys Targaryen in the award-winning HBO series Game of Thrones.
  • The role has garnered her critical acclaim and several accolades, including three nominations for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, and a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series.

  • Her other film credits include Sarah Connor in Terminator: Genisys, and Qi'ra in Solo: A Star Wars Story, as well as starring roles in the films Me Before You and Last Christmas.
  • Clarke made her Broadway debut in the starring role as Holly Golightly in a production of Breakfast at Tiffany's.


Emilia is a graduate of Drama Centre London.

Soon after graduation she was cast as ‘Daenerys Targaryen’ in what became the internationally successful HBO television series GAME OF THRONES, which ran for eight seasons and for which she received four Emmy nominations

Emilia’s film credits include DOM HEMINGWAY, SPIKE ISLAND, TERMINATOR: GENISYS starring as Sarah Connor, ME BEFORE YOU, SOLO: A STAR WARS STORY, and most recently she starred in Paul Feig’s LAST CHRISTMAS.

In the theatre Emilia took on the iconic role of ‘Holly Golightly’ in the Broadway production of Truman Capote’s BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S and she will next be seen at London’s Playhouse Theatre starring as ‘Nina’ in Anya Reiss’s adaptation of THE SEAGULL, directed by Jamie Lloyd.
