James Lafferty is an actor, director, writer and producer. Lafferty is most known for his work on the popular television series One Tree Hill as one of its lead characters during the show's successful nine-year run on the CW. Other television credits include a recurring role on NBC’s Crisis alongside Dermot Mulroney and WGN’s Underground starring Jurnee Smollett and Christopher Meloni.
James starred in the hit feature film Oculus, a horror film for Blumhouse Productions, which was reviewed as "one of the scariest American horror movies in years." Lafferty would go on to act in three consecutive, but very different films, written and directed by the Nelms Brothers -- Lost On Purpose with Jane Kaczmarek and C. Thomas Howell, Waffle Street co-starring Danny Glover, and Small Town Crime with John Hawkes, Anthony Anderson, Octavia Spencer and Robert Forster. Most recently, James starred in Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House where he played a brief, but important, role in one of the main character’s storylines.
