Julius Randle is a current NBA All-Star playing for the New York Knicks. Randle joined the Knicks in his sixth NBA season signing a three-year, 63 million dollar contract. After a year of adjustments and some struggles in 2019, Julius bounced back with a stellar 2020-2021 and led the Knicks to their first playoff berth and win in seven seasons. He was named the 2020-21 Kia NBA Most Improved Player, becoming the first Knicks player to win the award and also was named to his first NBA All-Star team. Beloved by his fellow teammates and fans he is now known as the captain of the New York Knicks.

Randle was born and raised in Dallas, TX. He was quickly known as one of the top high school basketball players in the country. He played his college basketball at the University of Kentucky and helped lead the wildcats to the 2013-14 National Championship game. He was named 2014 SEC Rookie of the Year and First-team All SEC.

Randle was selected with the seventh overall pick in the 2014 NBA draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. In his first NBA game, after only 14 official minutes of game time, Randle broke his right tibia ending his rookie season.

Randle returned to play in the 2015 NBA season and spent a total of four seasons playing for the Los Angeles Lakers as one of their top scorers. He then went on to play one season with the New Orleans Pelicans before joining the New York Knicks in 2019.

Julius and his wife Kendra welcomed their first child Kyden in 2016. The Randle family took over the Knicks playoff run with Kendra and Kyden attending every game to cheer on Julius. The Knicks and the NBA welcomed Kyden to surprise Julius with presenting him his NBA Most Improved Player Award. Julius and Kendra announced they are expecting their second child in the coming year.
