Biography

Multi-hyphenate writer, stand-up, producer, and actor, Al Madrigal is one of today’s most successful comedians, credited with breaking down barriers for Latinos in the industry and crossing over to become a quadruple threat and entrepreneur.

Madrigal’s film credits include his standout role as “Dan” the assistant basketball coach in the Warner Bros film, The Way Back, with co-star Ben Affleck. Al re-teamed with Affleck in the hit Amazon film, Air, alongside Matt Damon. Madrigal can also be seen in Night School, with Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish, Sony’s Morbius, with Jared Leto, and Disney’s Hollywood Stargirl opposite Judy Greer, Uma Thurman and Grace VanderWaal.

On television, Madrigal is best known as the Senior Latino Correspondent on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and his work as a series regular and writer on Showtime’s I’m Dying Up Here. He can be seen in the ninth season of Curb Your Enthusiasm and also opposite George Lopez in the NBC series, Lopez vs Lopez. His additional television credits include Apple TV+'s Physical and CBS's Broke, for which he served as a writer, actor, and producer.
