Mohammed "Mo" Amer is a Palestinian American standup comedian, actor, writer, and producer from Houston, Texas.
He can be seen starring in the semi-autobiographical, hit series Mo on Netflix, whose critically acclaimed second season released on Netflix with a 100% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Amer plays “Mo Najjar,” a struggling Palestinian refugee seeking asylum in Texas, where he has lived for over two decades. Season One was also 'certified fresh' by Rotten Tomatoes with a rare 100% from critics and was named one of the best shows in by The New York Times and NY Magazine. The series also garnered Amer a Gotham Award, Peabody Award, AFI Honors, and a Television Academy Honor.
Additionally, Mo co-stars alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson in the DC Comics tentpole superhero film Black Adam. He has performed tours in over 27 countries on 5 continents, including Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, and Bahrain. Beyond his series, Amer also has two one-hour comedy specials on Netflix: Mo Amer: The Vagabond and Mo Amer: Mohammed in Texas. In 2018, Amer joined the cast of the Emmy Award-winning Hulu show Ramy (starring Ramy Youssef) as a series regular.
Mo kicked off his El Oso Palestino comedy tour, which covers topics including life, family, and his journey as a new dad in today's political climate, all delivered with his signature humor and perspective just like he does on his eponymous show, Mo.
