Biography

Scotty is the world’s #1 ranked halfpipe Snowboarder, the recipient of the 2020 Crystal Globe, and was the Australian flagbearer at the 2018 Winter Olympics, where he won the Bronze Medal.

The 2017 Australian Institute of Sport’s Male Athlete of the Year and a 2019 ESPY Nominee for Best Male Action Sport Athlete, Scotty James has made his name known on Snowboarding’s largest stages since entering the sport at the age of 14. Now, at age 25, Scotty has won gold in two straight X-Games Super Pipe competitions, holds three gold medals in the World Halfpipe Championship, and is coming off a 2018/19 Undefeated Season – all leading into Beijing 2022, where he looks to build off his 2018 Bronze Olympic Medal with Gold.

Beyond the success and elite level of performance Scotty exhibits within the sport, he upholds the strong values of trust and family, as is evident in everything he does. With his family at his side amidst his worldly travels, and the transparent behind-the-scenes looks at his life via his online Red Bull-sponsored web series, All Day SJ, Scotty transcends snowboarding as the sport’s most relatable athlete.
