Biography

Sony Michel is a running back for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League. He was drafted 31st overall by the New England Patriots of the 2018 NFL Draft. He played college football at The University of Georgia.

Michel stared at the University of Georgia for four seasons. During his time there he finished with 33 total career rushing touchdowns and finished third on UGA’s all-time rushing list with 3,638 yards. Michel served as team captain for the Bulldogs during his Junior and Senior Seasons. His biggest game came against Oklahoma in the 2018 Rose Bowl where he was named Offensive MVP. He rushed for a new career-high 181 yards and scored four touchdowns. 

Following this success, Michel was drafted 31st overall by the New England Patriots in the 2018 NFL Draft. Michel had a breakout rookie season for the Patriots, rushing for 931 yards and recording six touchdowns. Michel helped lead the Patriots to win Super Bowl LIII, scoring the go-ahead touchdown late in the fourth quarter. Michel rushed for a total of six touchdowns in only second all-time to Hall of Fame running back Terrell Davis.
