Biography

Television and film director GREG YAITANES has directed over 100 hours of television’s top shows including LOST, HEROES, and GREY’S ANATOMY. His Emmy Award came in 2008 as a result of his work on HOUSE, M.D., one of the most popular and beloved shows worldwide. Currently, Greg is the showrunner for Alan Ball’s upcoming show BANSHEE, slated to premiere on Cinemax in January 2013.

In addition to his accomplishments in Hollywood, Greg has also earned a reputation for foresight in technology by investing in startups-turned-hits such as SQUARE, PINTERIST, TWITTER, and FOURSQUARE. His investments into tech have earned Greg a well-deserved place in Silicon Valley as a frequent guest speaker at companies like Twitter where he was one of the original investors.

Of his two primary professional passions, Greg notes, “Working with great actors and writers is no different than working with CEOs and innovators. We're all trying to find the best ideas, build on them and share our vision and passion with as many people as possible.”

Greg grew up in Wellesley, Massachusetts. At the age of 18, he moved to Los Angeles and attended the University of Southern California Film School. By 23, he landed his first directorial job. Greg was so persistent that he once waited seven hours for a 10-minute meeting with action film producer Joel Silver. After screening Greg's work, Silver signed him for his second feature. Since then, Yaitanes' artistic talent and dedication have led him to a successful career in the director's chair in television.

Also active in the Greek community, Yaitanes helped produce Greek America Foundation's Gabby Awards and directed the opening of the 2011 Gabby Awards Ceremony on Ellis Island.
