Co-Host of ABC's The View
Sara Haines is co-host of ABC’s The View. She was previously a co-host of ABC's daytime program “GMA3: Strahan, Sara & KeKe” which originally launched in fall 2018. Prior to that, she was co-host of ABC’s Emmy® Award-winning daytime talk show “The View” which she joined at the start of its 20th season in September 2016.
Prior to her association with ABC News in 2013, Haines was part of the fourth hour of NBC’s “Today,” alongside Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb, a position she held from 2009 to 2013. In 2008, she began online reporting as host of the program’s entertainment video blog, “Backstage Pass,” interviewing countless celebrity entertainers, actors and musicians.
Haines came aboard “Today” in 2002 as a production coordinator. Prior to joining NBC News, she was a member of NBC’s page program.
Haines graduated from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in government. She is a native of Newton, Iowa. She currently resides in New York City with her husband, Max; son, Alec; daughter, Sandra; and son; Caleb.
As a successful TV personality and daily anchor, Sara Haines’ world appears perfect to the public eye. However, behind closed doors, she experiences the same struggles as the viewers who tune in each day to GMA3: Strahan, Sara & Keke. Haines has suffered from post-partum depression after the birth of two of her children. She will share when she realized she didn’t feel immediate maternal bliss, understanding the symptoms and encouraging women to ask for help. Described as “refreshingly real,” Haines’ speech will leave your audience feeling encouraged, comfortable and laughing.
When working as a page on Today, Sara Haines was chasing after the way life was “supposed to look.” Husband, children in your 30’s and your dream career. When life didn’t go that way until later for her, she came to realize “When You Can’t Get in the Front Door, Get in the Side Window.” Bucking the pressure life and people put on you, Sara discusses how she broke into a pressure-filled business, maintains her authentic self and faces it all with humor. Audiences will appreciate Haines’ honesty in describing the twists her life took as they reflect on their own paths and find inspiration in her story.
Sara was so lovely! Everyone enjoyed her. It was a true pleasure to meet her and have her as a host.
